SCOTUS Ethics Introduction

This forum is dedicated to a code of ethics for SCOTUS. There currently is none. The proposal floated by the current members of SCOTUS in December of 2023 is essentially without merit.

Searches and various sites reveal that few are impressed with the new code. This NPR site: https://www.npr.org/2023/11/13/12127081 ... thics-code has this quoted text:
With the release of the code Monday, the court is trying to be somewhat specific about what justices can and cannot do. But, there is a lot they can do and no enforcement mechanism as to what they are supposed not to do.
No enforcement mechanism. The effect is that their ethics code has no effect. It is fundamentally without merit.
